Forest Mews has been made a finalist for the Surface Design Awards, for the exterior surface.

The fabricators of the folded metal mesh are not architectural metal workers, and usually fabricate animal cages… So this is pretty good work!

It’s testament to their work and the work of our contractor, John Perkins Projects, that we have been shortlisted for such an innovative and experimental facade – delivered on a small budget!

Good old fashioned folding and welding, with a large amount of drawings and thought gone into it!

We are alongside some big and established practice names, so are pretty thrilled considering we are not an architectural practice.

Although we are both architects, we practice separately and this project was our first project working together, outside of busy day jobs…

Fingers crossed!

Thank you London Open House!

Phew – what a weekend!

We had so many visitors and more requests than we could accommodate!

But thank you to everyone for coming and for the great feedback.

We are thrilled to be taking part of London Open House – even more so this year, as we have been featured as a ‘modern exemplar’ by the events organisers, Open City.

With over 100 people booked in already, we are preparing ourselves for a very busy day!

‘With major constraints on space, demand for housing has always been one of the capital’s most pressing issues.  With London’s population projected to change and expand in the next 20 years… we will need new design solutions to meet these needs.

‘Open House London shows you how architects are meeting this challenge, turning the constraints of limited budget, reuse of existing structures and restricted space to their advantage, to create outstanding spaces to live in – for individuals, families and communities.’
